Radha Krishna : The touchstone of Love.

Anytime someone asks me the basis or the cause of my hopeless romanticism, I divulge the tale of Radha Krishna. A love so eternal, they were the same soul just different bodies. Lord Krishna is the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, while Shree Radha is known to be an avatar of Goddess Shakti (or sometimes Lord Vishnu's Yogamaya).Legends state that Lord Krishna's flute hummed Radhe's name, and his flute was enough to mesmerize Radha because she was truly, deeply and madly in love with him. Krishna is the darling of everyone that chance upon him but Radhe is his darling, and only her. There are numerous anecdotes of their love but despite loving so madly, they didn't end up together (or atleast as per earthly requirements).Radha Rani was set to marry Ayan and Krishna went on to marry Rukmini and took in seven other consorts, additionally he married 16,100 women after rescuing them from Narakasura, who had held them captive. Krishna married them to grant them respect and safety. Many have devoted themselves to Krishna, the mystic Mirabai, poet Surdas, to name some, but Radha Rani is considered the highest devotee, embodying the peak of intimate, unalloyed love for Krishna, therewithal she is also considered Krishna's strength. So this is a case of unresolved affection, you may assume—No. Radha Krishna teach us the true meaning of love; it's not always getting the girl or a happily ever after, oh no. It is much more pronounced and beyond that. To love truly is to be patient, to possess the power to sacrifice; to love deeply but not cling; to love is to make peace with yourself, to be free, to liberate. To love is to let go.We are the ones that engender this empyreal feeling and we are the ones who can preserve it. Radha Krishna's love is considered spiritual and transcendental, symbolising the union of the soul (Shree Radha) with the Divine (Shree Krishna). So what is love? It is clearly much more than "baby don't hurt me no more." We'll never know a love true than theirs but we can attempt to render one befitting our mortal caliber.
