Fastelavnsboller!!!!!

The day of fastelavn is reminiscent of halloween, though much less scary! On the day children wear costumes and hit a barrel with a bat till it breaks and candy pours out! very therapeutic and quite literally rewarding indeed! But my favourite part about easter and the time near fastelavn is fastelavsboller! There are so many bakeries that make different fastelavns buns only in this period, and they are so delicious. My favourite is the original one which is called a "gammeldags" (old fashioned/classic) simply a delicious bun with vanilla cream inside, topped with a chocolate glaze. Amazing! It is a very old tradition with religious origins, but today it has become a more cultural celebration :)
