Mackinac Bridge, Michigan

This bridge, opened in 1957, spans "the Straits of Mackinac" and is 5 miles (8 km) long. It connects the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan, USA. Lake Michigan is to the west, and Lake Huron is to the west; the bridge itself is a north/south bridge. Every year, on Labor Day, the bridge is opened to people walking and biking. Sometimes there is so much wind the bridge is closed. Also, you can opt to pay someone to drive your motorcycle across in a truck or trailer.
