Potsdam, Memories in stone

This is the New Palace in Potsdam (Brandenburg) — one of my favourite places to walk past. It is huge and impressive, but what I like most is the quiet around it: the long paths, the trees, the sense of history sitting there calmly in the background.When i touch these stones and sculptures i think about all the people who touched it centuries ago, they no longer live. We still do.
