The Flag, the Children, and a Shared Identity

Today was a very special day for my son, Christopher, as he took part in Argentina’s traditional Flag Pledge Ceremony, celebrated by fourth-grade students across the country. During this event, children pledge loyalty to the national flag, a symbol of freedom, unity, and hope. More than a school tradition, it is a meaningful rite of passage that encourages young Argentinians to reflect on their shared history and cultural identity, while embracing the values of respect, solidarity, and civic responsibility that help shape our nation.
