Cape Hatteras, Buxton, NC

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is a really fascinating historical landmark located in Buxton, North Carolina. It's 198 ft (about 60 m) tall, which makes it the tallest lighthouse in the United States and North America. It takes 257 steps to reach the top, about the same as climbing a 12-story building. It was completed in 1870, and it was moved inland in 1999 to prevent coastal erosion.
