Pizzica, traditional dance

Pizzica is a traditional dance from Salento. Some say it derives from ancient bacchich rites. In Apulia's agrarian past it was believed that some women were bitten by a tarantula, and that the only remedy was to do this frenetic dance to sweat out the poison.
