The Waugh Drive Bridge over the Buffalo Bayou in Houston houses a colony of 200,000-300,000 Mexican free-tailed bats! People gather in the summer every day at sunset to watch the bats fly in giant swarms out to eat their dinner. There are herons in the bayou below that will fly up and grab a bat snack, too.
