Hanami: Enjoying Spring Under the Cherry Blossoms
One of my favorite things about Japanese culture is hanami, which means enjoying the beauty of cherry blossoms. When spring arrives and the cherry trees start blooming, people go to parks and other beautiful places to enjoy the flowers. Some people simply take a walk and look at the blossoms, while others bring food and drinks and have a picnic with friends, family, or coworkers. For me, hanami is not just about looking at flowers. It is also a nice opportunity to spend time with people, eat good food, take pictures, relax outside, and enjoy the feeling that spring has arrived. I like how something as simple as sitting under a tree can become a special memory. The flowers also don't stay in bloom for very long, which makes the experience feel more special. In Japan, you can see cherry trees in many everyday places, including parks, along rivers, around schools, and near temples and shrines. During the season, some places are especially lively with people enjoying the blossoms. If you ever visit Japan during spring, I think having a hanami picnic is a fun way to experience a small but meaningful part of Japanese life. 🇯🇵
