Circleville Pumpkin Show, Ohio
Every fall in the town of Circleville, Ohio, there is the annual Circleville Pumpkin Show. This has been a state tradition for over 119 years. Many people go for just the food alone. Every snack, treat, and drink has pumpkin in it. You can get anything from pumpkin waffles, pumpkin pie on a stick, and even pumpkin burgers. The local bakery makes the world's largest pumpkin pie every single year. The local children participate in Pumpkin Pageants and the Pumpkin Queens lead floats in the daily parade. The students get the entire week off of school to help out with the preparations for the show. Lastly, there is a pumpkin contest to see who grows the largest pumpkin. For 2026, the winner was a pumpkin that weighed 2,455 pounds! The Pumpkin Show is one of my favorite fall traditions that I look forward to every October. It's the culmination of celebrating the season and the show brings so many people together.
