River Rat Weekend

Every April my hometown and the neighboring town host a 5.2 mile canoe race. What started as a bar bet has grown to an area tradition that attracts canoeists from all over, kicking off the season. It features a carnival and parade, which begins with the Big Cheese 5k run/walk, which raises money for the local food bank.
