Etched Easter Eggs and Blessed Baskets
In Poland, every Holy Sunday, families bring baskets full of foods - that they will eat the next day for Easter Breakfast - to church for them to be blessed by the priest. The basket usually holds sausages, salt, bread, horseradish, and of course - the easter eggs! These are usually traditionally dyed with red cabbage leaves, and then etched patterns into with any sharp blade or needle, then polished with spirit vinegar. Some other places in Poland also paint on designs with wax onto the egg shells :) All these foods are used to make/eat with the soup eaten on Easter Breakfast.
