I teach high-school science in North Carolina and enjoy designing hands-on labs and creating simple tools that help students understand difficult ideas. Outside of teaching, I spend much of my time reading both fiction and nonfiction, listening to educational and storytelling podcasts, and watching documentaries, TV shows, and films that spark new interests. I am also a beginner fountain-pen collector who enjoys experimenting with different inks and nibs. In addition, I like visiting parks and historical sites; recent highlights were exploring the ruins of Chichén Itzá and Lamanai.
