I've been here for over a decade, so I've gone from wide-eyed newcomer to someone who can navigate konbini queues and onsen etiquette without panicking.Life here is a great mix of quiet routine and occasional adventure, teaching English part-time, exploring local izakayas, hiking in the mountains when the weather’s kind, and trying (with varying success) to cook decent Japanese food at home.
