Obon is coming up soon here. During Obon, the souls of the deceased return to their families. We burn welcome fire on the first day and farewell fire on the last day. Also, special decorations are placed on the altar. We make horses of a cucumber or an eggplant for the deceased to ride. Bon dances are held in each village to welcome and entertain the spirits of the deceased. For the first time in a long while, the Bon dance will be held in my village on 25th July. I'm looking forward to it.
