I'm a Chinese citizen, and I've also lived in the U.S. and Singapore. Meeting people from different cultures has shown me that although our languages and experiences may differ, we share many of the same hopes, joys, and struggles.I believe one of the kindest parts of human nature is caring for those who are vulnerable, not from pity, but from a sense of our shared humanity. I once wrote a poem for people experiencing homelessness in Seattle and donated five pairs of socks to a local shelter.I find peace in music and writing — both poetry and prose.
