Grew up in the socialist country of Germany, went through several kinds of technical education, served in the army, coped with the change from the socialist to the capitalist society, got rather sophisticated through travelling to many countries of the world and married a woman of Hiroshima more than 14 years ago. Started acquiring British English at the age of 45 from nearly nought.
