I just finished my PhD in Latin American Literature, and I am about to begin my journey as a professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies. Every day I try to listen to a new band, or at least a new song. Orchestras are my favorite, any genre really, but I prefer music from the African diaspora. My work is based on reading, but I am always interested in new poetry from around the world, plays, or artistic expressions that allow me to better engage with daily life. I find writing is one form of meditation that works for me.
