I am a quiet and thoughtful person. I am adaptable and, although I am generally serious, I have a good sense of humour and am easy to get along with. I read a lot - essentially because I have lost all my friends and relations of my generation - and have a very sharp and active mind. Most things in life interest me, but they need to be "worthwhile". I know at my present age the most valuable things in life are other people, whether particular friends or simply interesting and imaginative people I meet. Loneliness is very hard to bear without people in one's daily life.
