I am an American, retired, and now call northern Thailand home. I have been married to a gracious, loving woman of hill-tribe ethnicity, for twenty-two years. She is 62. I spend my days doing some volunteer teaching, practicing my poor Thai language skills by playing chess with the village men, and reading all of the books I never had time for during my working years. Orawan enjoys participating in activities at our local Buddhist temple, gardening and raising orchids, and chatting with other wives in the village. Life now, because of the virus, is very quiet.
